SATHYA SAI SOCIETY OF MEREBANK 2 September 2007
Due to schools being open on Saturday to cover time loss during the teacher strike, the Sathya Sai Society had to book a Mosque Tour for a Sunday morning. Alhamdulillah the IPCI team convened a successful tour wherein 70 pupils & educators were given the message via an audio visual presentation of Islam, and thereafter, a question and answer session. The educators and some parents who accompanied their young ones were overwhelmed with Joy when an Enlglish only Quran were presented to them. This was a new experience for them and the for certain individuals this was their first visit to a Mosque as one parent remarked that, they live near Mosques and always wanted to know what went on in there?
CHRIST CHURCH – NEWLANDS – 2 September 2007 – FIRST EVER
DIALOGUE IN A CHURCH….
As a gesture of reciprocating their visit to the IPCI, the Christ Church of Newlands West, a suburb outside the City of Durban, extended an invitation to the IPCI team to address their congregation of 200 people, on the subject matter of Jesus in Islam and Christianity. This was an-interfaith dialogue which Insha Allah will open more doors for the IPCI to focus its objective in delivering the message of Islam to the non-Muslim. Alhamdulillah IPCI’s representative Attorney Yusuf Ismail presented an excellent paper on the Islamic viewpoint on Jesus (PBUH). Mr. Yusuf Ismail quoted various verses from the Bible which addresses the advent of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). Some in the audience disagreed with some of the points put forward by Yusuf but an overhaul assessment of the event was that the message of Islam was truly delivered to the congregation who acknowledged the input by Yusuf Ismail. After the event the congregation interacted with members of the IPCI team which included Trustee Uncle Dawood Ngwane, who highlighted his reversion to Islam.
The IPCI team represented by Attorney Yusuf Ismail will be at the Muslim Assembly Hall, Loedwyek Rd. Newfields, Cape Town on Sunday the 7th of October 2007 for an inter-faith dialogue with Christian missionary Alan Profitt.
